About Tidyco Rail

The Tidyco Rail Division - 50 Years of Experience

The Tidyo Rail Division can trace its history back 50 years when the Tidy Hydraulics division was set up from Tidy Hire Ltd in 1973 to serve its hire fleet. The newly Hydraulics division was soon supplying hydraulics to British Rail on new train builds, such as Class 26 and Class 43 (II).

Tidy Hire Ltd was sold in 1985 and Tidy Hydraulics became a full-fledged company serving the Rail sector the following year.

Paul Jacks returned after a six year hiatus in 1997 and the following year Tidy Hire Ltd was awarded a Parker Hannifin Distributorship.

In 1999 Tidy Hydraulics Ltd secured the hydraulic hose supply for the Turbostar and Electrostar (Adtranz), Coradia (Alstom) and Voyager (Bombardier).

Tidy Hydraulics and Tidy Technical merged in 2002 to become Tidyco Ltd and set up their online store the following year.

Outgrowing their former premises, Tidyco Ltd moved from the Parker Centre to their existing premises on Pentagon Island in 2008.

In 2011 Tidyco won a contract for hose manufacturing and repair for the Euro Tunnel trains in Folkstone. Seven years later, investment was made into Rail's capabilities with a state-of-the-art tube bending machine and 3D scanning arm, further expanding the company's scope of supply.

By this point, Tidyco Rail had started to develop its expertise in overhaul through the refurbishment of hydraulic hoses and to bolster this area of business, Mark Portsmouth was brought on board as well as the creation of a dedicated Rail Overhaul Facility in 2020.

Due to the rapid expansion of the overhaul business, an adjoining unit to the building was acquired and renovated to the business' needs. The Tidyco Rail Overhaul Facility was officially opened on 19th November 2021 by The Right Honourable Lord Patrick McLaughlin. The following year, Tidyco welcomed Seb Dance to Tidyco as part of his campaign to guarantee funding for Transport for London.

In recent years, Tidyco has gained further acclaim by receiving its ISO 140001 accreditation, being granted the MAHLE distributorship for their HVAC rail components and forming a strategic partnership with Nabtesco.

The Tidyco Rail Division carries on growing from strength to strength with a number of exciting projects in the pipeline.
