Tidyco is an approved distributor of Parker Hannifin rail hose and fittings and has been supplying genuine Parker hose assemblies into the rail industry for many decades. We are also the rail integrator for Danfoss rail hoses, which comprises of the former Eaton Aeroquip product range.
Tidyco’s manufacturing facility in Derby is strategically positioned to serve the UK rail industry, Derby has been a centre of train manufacturing excellence for over 175 years. Tidyco has been supplying hydraulic and pneumatic products to the Litchurch Lane site in Derby for over 30 years. During that time the site has changed hands several times from British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) to ABB to Adtranz to Bombardier and is currently owned by French train manufacturer, Alstom.

Over the years, Tidyco has become an essential part of the UK rail service market, supplying hoses and overhaul kits to many of the major manufacturers and operators of rolling stock.
This includes Siemens, where Tidyco have been supplying maintenance and overhaul hoses for their fleets across the UK for over 15 years. In that time, we have worked with them to optimise and extend maintenance periodicities, with a view to reducing lifecycle costs for Siemens and their customers.
We also work extensively across the industry with the likes of Hitachi Rail, Transport for London and many operators and overhaulers.
To further improve our customer’s reliability, productivity, reduce inventory and streamline the procurement process, Tidyco also offers a parts kitting service, in which the various individual hoses are grouped into like packages and procured as kits of parts. This can assist in reducing inventory and increasing productivity by eliminating missing parts and simplifying the procurement of material.
Both Parker and Danfoss offer a range of rail compliant products, which allows Tidyco to produce hoses to suit virtually abny application. Many of these hoses also comply with the current EN45545-2 fire specifications and Tidyco were one of the first producers to supply this into the UK rail industry.

Tidyco was involved in the early development of the Class 168 named the “Clubman” which evolved into the current family of trains know as the “Turbostar” which are still part of the current portfolio. Tidyco’s involvement in the late 1990’s became significant when it was commissioned by ABB to reengineer every aspect of the trains hydraulic systems to improve reliability and improve production techniques. This entailed reengineering the engine coolant system, hydrostatic system, fuel system, body to bogie hoses, heater hoses, etc.
Tidyco specified Parker Hannifin rail hose and fittings in the design proposal, firstly for their superior quality, but secondly for their broad but comprehensive product range thus allowing the various hoses and components to be manufactured using only one brand, Parker. The decision to manufacture everything in Parker installed product continuity and improved operating reliability.
To further enhance reliability and improve production techniques, Tidyco’s highly trained engineers were commissioned by ABB to fit the newly reengineered hose packages to the vehicles on the production line. Tidyco further enhanced the hydraulic systems by improving hose clamping and routing of hydraulic hoses.
Tidyco has supplied every Turbostar build in Derby which includes Class 168, Class 170, Class 171 and Class 172 and it is still supplied in kit form manufactured using Parker rail hose and fittings.
