Vamac® can be used in applications such as train braking systems, body to bogie hose systems and for inter car hosing. Tidyco manufacture Vamac®Hose and produce assemblies for use on the London Underground (LUL).
DuPont™ Vamac ethylene acrylic elastomer is engineered for superior thermal and chemical resistance. Widely used for automotive components, it has been developed to produce a hose suitable for use on underground rolling stock. The Vamac compound has been incorporated into a hose predominantly for its low smoke, low toxicity characteristics when combusted, making it a suitable product for use on underground trains. This hose is also suited to carry hydrocarbon lubricants and hydraulic fluids.
Tidyco has exclusive access to the only approved source of Vamac hose in the UK. In conjunction with our supplier Tidyco is the only manufacturer of Vamac hose assemblies approved to London Underground RSE004 part 10 and to AFNOR NFF 16-101 specifications.
Tidyco is the approved supplier to Bombardier in Derby for all hydraulic and pneumatic hose assemblies including Vamac hose assemblies. Tidyco supplied Vamac hose assemblies to all the recent new underground fleets built by Bombardier which includes;
47 eight-car trains for the Victoria line upgrade
177 trains of different types which run on the Metropolitan, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines.
